Pair enticed guy’s ex-girlfriend from bar and killed her

A California man and woman are headed to prison after a jury found them guilty of the murder of his ex-girlfriend after they lured her out of a bar on St. Patrick” s Day last year and fired her to death.

Margarita Jimenez, 34, and Jorge Garfias, 38, were convicted of first-degree murder in the fatality of Yanelly Vargas, according to the Ventura Region District Attorney’s Workplace The ordeal started on March 17, 2024, when Garfias received a telephone call from the 35 -year-old Vargas as he and Jimenez watched television, the Ventura County Star reported

Jimenez listened to a female’s voice on the various other line and challenged Garfias concerning who he was talking with. Garfias confessed was Vargas, his ex-girlfriend, that was out celebrating St. Patrick’s Day at a bar in Oxnard, some 60 miles west of Los Angeles. Jimenez supposedly indicated she was “tired of the dramatization.” She stated she felt as if Garfias and Vargas were rekindling their partnership.

“I felt anger, I felt betrayed, I really felt existed to,” Jimenez testified.

Garfias and Jimenez drove to the bar and enticed her to his truck via message. They drove Vargas to a street in an industrial park where a debate turned physical and the suspects defeated the victim, district attorneys stated. Vargas got out of the vehicle and tried to flee but the suspects followed her in Garfias’ truck.

She faced Vargas.

“I was depressing, crazy,” Jimenez said. “I was hostile with her.”

Monitoring video clip showed Jimenez leave the vehicle, followed Vargas and fire her dead in the chest. She tried to shoot her once again yet the gun obstructed, prosecutors said. Next-door neighbors called 911 when they saw a man and a female suggesting and dispatchers listened to the gunshot. Cops rushed to the scene and located Vargas dead. In addition to the gunshot injury, she also dealt with candid pressure injury and signs of strangulation.

Detectives found a blood test, an invested 9 mm shell case and acrylic nails that were later on connected to Jimenez. There was also a blood-stained yellow rope near the victim, district attorneys stated.

Police officers arrested the suspects concerning two weeks after the murder.

A trial on unique claims and annoying factors starts Monday.
