A teenager’s mysterious fatality in 1972 continues to baffle detectives and haunt a neighborhood.
On a common summer day in Springfield Territory, New Jacket, Jeannette DePalma left her home on August 7, 1972, intending to go to a good friend. That would certainly be the last time she was seen active.
Six weeks later, on September 19, her decomposing body was uncovered in a quarry after a pet dog revived a human arm to its owner. In spite of comprehensive investigations, her fatality remains shrouded in mystery, without definitive solutions about what really happened to her.
Jeannette, born on August 3, 1956, resided in a comfortable, upper-middle-class community with her passionate Christian household. Her 16 th birthday celebration had been a peaceful party, in accordance with her spiritual childhood. On the day she went away, she told her mommy she was taking the train to a pal’s residence. When she failed to return home, her moms and dads reported her absent, yet no hints arised up until that eventful September day when her remains were located.
